Mauritius Horse Racing

The Mauritius Racing Season takes place between March and December each year with this years season kicking off on the 9 April 2022.

Horse Racing is the most popular sport on the island of Mauritius and racing takes place at Champ de Mars Racecourse. This is their only racecourse and it is a relatively small track and follows a very selective rand hand oval path.

Races are run on distances from 990m to 2400m. A maximum capacity filed of eleven horses are allowed to race on the track which is well maintained to avoid any trauma to the horses racing.
